Lea Lawrence, PCA
Professional Counselor Associate
I am Lea, a Professional Counselor Associate
Hello! I’m a child and family therapist working with kids and teens ages 3–18. I have experience working with high-risk youth in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including those experiencing significant anger concerns.
As a queer, neurodivergent, BIPOC woman in Portland, I understand firsthand the importance of affirming representation. I work from a trauma-informed lens and have extensive experience working with high-acuity children, teens, and families in both residential and outpatient settings. I work with children and teens aged 3-18, as well as their families, providing extra support during times when you feel stuck and have no one to turn to.
I bring an outside, non-judgmental perspective to each session to help them achieve their goals both internally and externally.
What can you expect when meeting with me?
I believe that for therapy to be effective, there needs to be a positive dynamic between the client and the therapist, and I strive to foster that relationship by meeting you where you are, both physically and emotionally. When we meet, you can expect to review your presenting concerns in a relaxed manner, as well as begin to identify treatment goals and develop a treatment plan – this will allow us to determine whether we are a good fit for one another. I look forward to meeting with you and being a part of your growth journey!
