Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

Adrienne Buhacoff, LCSW

Therapist/Clinic Director

I am Adrienne, a licensed Therapist in Oregon.

Hi there, I’m Adrienne Buhacoff, Owner and Clinic Director at Positive Inner Self, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oregon (L11095). I specialize in supporting individuals and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, grief and loss, and life transitions. I also focus on foster care and adoption, infant and toddler mental health, attachment issues, and parent training using The Nurtured Heart Approach. My therapy style is trauma-informed, holistic, systemic, and rooted in anti-oppression values.

I’m proudly LGBTQIA+ affirming, creating a safe and welcoming space where all identities are respected and valued. I truly believe we’re all doing the best we can with the tools we have. I love exploring and finding your strengths, supporting you in using them to create positive change in your life and for your family. I’ll walk alongside you using CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), mindfulness, family systems, and skills-based approaches because you don’t have to face things alone. Healing is possible, and I’m here when you’re ready.

My Experience

I have worked with children, teens, and their families for 18 years! My career path began with adolescents and teens with substance abuse issues. I provided individual and group therapy as well as parenting classes.  I have also worked with children (ages 0-12) and their caregivers in the child welfare system (foster care, adoption, and reunification) working through difficulties surrounding trauma responses, attachment difficulties, anxiety, depression, and ADHD.

The services I provided included individual and family therapy, training on trauma and the brain, adoption, and parenting.  More recently, I provided intensive, community-based therapy services to teens and their families in crisis as well as individual and family therapy to a variety of individuals in an office setting. I am also a mother of four children.

It’s important to find a therapist that’s a good fit. Here’s what you can expect if you come to see me!

Initially, we will meet to discuss your concerns and ensure that I am a good fit for your needs. We will review the presenting issues and develop a treatment plan that meets your and your family’s needs. I enjoy using humor and playfulness to create a relaxed environment.
