Where is your office located?

We are located at 6700 SW 105th Ave, Suite 215, Beaverton, OR 97008.  We offer both in person and Telehealth appointments.

Is therapy right for me?

Balancing stress and happiness is a natural part of living, but if you feel the scales are tipping too far in an undesirable direction, therapy can help find balance. And mental health counseling isn’t just for people in crisis. Many clients find maintenance counseling very helpful in navigating life’s ongoing challenges.

How many therapy sessions before I see improvement?

The duration of therapy is unique to each client(s) that we work with. This can depend on several presenting issues that bring you in. Some issues begin to see improvement in just a few sessions, others take a bit more time. Whatever pace your healing requires, we can work together to build a plan that will work for your unique situation.

Do you offer evening and weekend appointments?

We have multiple clinicians with varying availability, some evening and some weekend appointments are available; however, tend to fill up quickly.  

How long are the counseling sessions?

Individual and family sessions are typically 45-60 minutes long. Group and workshops are a minimum of 1 hour. On occasion, we will offer 30-minute sessions when there is a time crunch.

How do I find the right therapist for me?

Finding the right therapist for your needs may seem difficult or confusing, and it ultimately depends on finding a good fit for your therapeutic goals. Many clients find it helpful to start their search with reliable online databases like Psychology Today or Portland Health Clinic. Others find it helpful to get recommendations from trusted friends or family members. Start by identifying the issues you would like help with and then narrow down your search to therapists who are specialized in treating those concerns. We try to make it as simple as possible by offering free consultation calls for new clients. This is a time for us to connect directly, ask any questions you may have, and decide if Positive Inner Self is the right fit for you!
